Manor
Overtown Manor Farmhouse has been in the same family for over 4 generations.
Set in the heart of the North Wessex Downs the original house was built in 1690 and extended again in the 18th century. Five acres of farmland and gardens provides an oasis of peace and quiet, dark skies and a garden from which Nancy sources most of the seasonal ingredients for the home cooked food that Overtown Manor is famous for.
In fact home cooked locally sourced food from our garden is at the heart of what Overtown Manor is about. We prefer food steps from the garden, farm and village to food miles.
We take great pride in our versatility as a venue. Not only is the whole house and garden available for private rental, we also provide B&B, corporate hospitality, cookery courses and open the ground floor and gardens for family events. We are always keen to discuss any ideas you may have, so please don't hesitate to get in touch with us to discuss your requirements.
Meet the Team
The friendly team at Overtown Manor are what really makes us special. The house and grounds are beautiful, but the amazing group racing around behind the scenes under Frank’s watchful eye keep it that way! Everyone has their special role to play, but quite ‘Frank’-ly everyone here pitches in with whatever needs doing to keep it running smoothly.
Nancy
Her simple back-to-basics approach is about eating foods that people living 100 years ago would recognise.
Nancy’s happy place is her kitchen, but when she’s not there she can be found doing anything she can to avoid the paperwork in the office!
Lucille
Lucille is our wonderful gardener. Almost all the amazing seasonal fruit and veg Nancy cooks with has been lovingly produced by Lucille. In all weathers she is out stomping the grounds and working her green-fingered magic, all with a smile and a laugh to hand. Not only is she an artist in the garden, but she is also an artist in with a paintbrush and loves to create artwork in her spare time.
Charlotte
Charlotte is the queen of the rooms at Overtown Manor. She spends her days making sure everywhere is looking its best and is ready for our guests. Be it changing linens, or clearing up the aftermath of cookery courses in the kitchen, Charlotte is there to keep us on the straight and narrow. Her eye for detail and cheery smile really make all the difference.
Claire, Tiff and Caia are the kitchen support workers/wonder women. They spend most of their time in the kitchen helping Nancy cook up a storm, but have been known to muck out horses, round up cows and almost anything else you can think of.
Claire
Claire is one of our fabulous kitchen support staff. When she’s not chopping, kneading or mixing she can be found playing padel or learning how to golf with her daughters.
Tiff
Tiff is another superstar in the kitchen and beyond. She can turn her hand to any tasks required and is best known round here for being a keen conspiracy theorist.
Caia
Caia runs round the kitchen helping out in any way she can. When she’s not running round the kitchen at Overtown Manor, she’s out in the fresh air running around with her dogs.
Holly
Holly is our administrator. She can usually be found hunched over the keyboard in the office with a large cup of tea in hand, or sneaking out to fuss the dogs! Outside of the office, Holly’s favourite hobby is embarrassing her 3 daughters by any means possible.
Rhona
Rhona is our office support. Nancy bounces ideas off her and together they are the brains and heart of the operation. If you want to discuss a big idea, Rhona is your go to girl. Outside of the office, she’s looking after her girls.
Holly

You may not think it to look at him, but Frank is the brains behind our operation, nothing happens around Overtown Manor without Frank’s approval.
He’s always on hand to greet the guests when they arrive, well if he’s not busy chasing his favourite ball round the garden or asleep in his favourite sunny spot on the lawn that is.
When not sleeping he can be found checking that the flowers in the drawing room are fresh and the pictures are all hung straight.
He can also be found hanging around the kitchen door, his little nose twitching and sniffing the air appreciatively as Nancy pulls yet another amazing mouth watering dish from the Aga.
He would love to be checking every bed to ensure the duvets are as warm and snuggly as possible and the pillows are plumped to perfection but much to his disappointment Nancy won’t allow him upstairs!
